The perfect place to enjoy the Highlands
Orkney Cottage is a small but perfectly formed cosy traditional stone cottage in the heart of the Highlands - the perfect place for fantastic family and outdoor activity holidays. Built in 1904, we have refurbished the cottage to a high level to ensure you have everything you need. We have recently refitted hand-made double glazed windows, efficient wi-fi heating, reliable wi-fi, thick carpet, on-demand shower and a well equipped kitchen to ensure you have all the comfort you need.
The cottage's large fenced private gardens border the Highland Wildlife Park so you can see wild horses, camels and buffalo alongside the local wildlife!
We have a secure shed to store bikes and sports equipment, a large trampoline and rope swing to keep the kids entertained and beautiful views over the Cairngorms and Insh Marshes.
Only 30 miles to Loch Ness, 10 minutes drive to Aviemore, less than 2 miles to Kincraig and Loch Insh watersports and 3 miles to Kingussie with direct access to a cycle path, the cottage is in a great location to explore the area by car, bike or foot.

We love our cosy little cottage and are confident you will too. We've spent time and love making sure it's a home from home so you know you've got everything you need to maximise your enjoyment of the Scottish Highlands. Comfortable beds, new double glazed windows, wifi, efficient heating, private gardens and a very well equipped kitchen ensures you will get maximum comfort and enjoyment both in and around the cottage.
The Highland Wildlife Park
Orkney Cottage borders the fantastic Highland Wildlife Park, meaning you're only a short walk to being able to see the polar bears, tigers, snow leopards, Scottish wildcats and handsome camels! Not your typical zoo, the animals are suited perfectly to the Highland climate and have lots of space to roam. A great day out for adults and kids alike.

The scenery in the Cairngorms is stunningly beautiful, whatever the time of year. There is so much to see and do in the area around Aviemore, providing options for hikers, climbers, road and mountain bikers, skiers, snowboarders, kayakers, gastronomes, fishing fans, wildlife watchers and monster hunters!
